George Allen Teer

April 30, 1947 - February 11, 2026

George Allen Teer was born on April 30, 1947 in Dallas, Texas. He passed away after a long battle with cancer on February 11, 2026 at the age of 78. George was a resident of Keller, Texas. He was surrounded by his loving family; his wife Sandy, his children Michael and Christopher, and his daughter-in-law Sandra, all of whom he loved dearly.

He is preceded in death by his parents, George Azmun Teer and Johnnie Hazel Reese Teer and his brother Jack Reese Teer.

George is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years Sandy Mahler Teer, his sons Michael Allen Teer and his son Beckett, Christopher Ryan Teer and his wife Sandra, and their children Brianna, Christian, and Audrey, all of whom knew him as their devoted and loving “Poppy". He is also survived by his brother David Whit Teer of Houston and his sister Catherine Gayle Teer of Austin.

George graduated from Garland High School in 1965. He attended Texas A&M University where in his freshman year he was in the Corp of Cadets, Air Force. He was awarded a full scholarship from the petroleum engineering department of Texas A&M his sophomore, junior, and senior year, graduating with honors in 1969 with a degree in petroleum engineering. After graduation from Texas A&M he went to work for Shell Oil Company and moved to Houston, Texas. In 1974 he was recruited to work for Bass Enterprises Production Company in Fort Worth. He worked for Bass for 20 years spending time in New Orleans, Denver and Midland. In 1994 George went to work for Lomak Petroleum, which soon after was renamed Range Resources. He worked for Range for 20 years, retiring in October of 2013.

George enjoyed so many things, but his favorite thing to do was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He took special pride in being an engaged and loving presence in their lives. He loved traveling, and once the grandchildren were old enough they came along on many of the trips, making wonderful family memories. He enjoyed snow skiing, dirt biking, racquet ball, scuba diving, boating, the Dallas Cowboys and of course, the Texas Aggies.

Known for his quick wit and great sense of humor, George will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose love was constant, generous, and unwavering. His legacy will live on through the family he cherished and the many lives he touched.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that a donation be made in George’s name to the Texas A&M University Association of Former Students. www.aggienetwork.com/give/memorialgiving/
