Roll Call Tribute

Andrew "Andy" McNemar '88 February 18, 2026 5:02 PM updated: February 18, 2026 5:10 PM

Andrew Jay "Andy" McNemar

June 4, 1966 - October 19, 2025

Andrew “Andy” Jay McNemar passed away at his home in Bryan, Texas, October 19, 2025, after facing health challenges for many years. He was born June 4, 1966, in Pasadena, Texas to Jay McNemar and Kathleen Hawkins Rowland. Andy grew up in Houston, graduated from Bellaire High School, and was a member of the Texas A&M University Class of 1988. He graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Science and was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity.

After his much talked about high school “job” as an Astros bat boy in 1983, Andy spent his career in pharmaceutical sales, representing organizations including Eli Lilly, G. D. Searle, Eisai, and Takeda Pharmaceutical Company. During those years he earned many awards for sales, coaching and leadership.

Andy was known for his engaging smile and his ability to strike up a conversation with anyone, anywhere. Anyone who spent a little time with him quickly learned he had four sons who meant the world to him. Although health challenges in later years limited his activities, Andy never tired of connecting with longtime friends, watching sports on TV (especially the Aggies), and sharing stories of one of his favorite past times, fishing—some of which may even have been true. In the last year he moved from Conroe to Bryan where he enjoyed being part of a community and making new friends.

Andy is survived by Collin McNemar (son) & fiancé Shelby Donovan, Grayson McNemar (son), Reid McNemar (son), Noah McNemar (son), Jennifer McNemar Hobbs (sister) & Robby Hobbs (brother-in-law), Sally Kate Humphries (niece) & husband Brandon Morse, Andrew Humphries (nephew), Bonnie Jentho McNemar (stepmother) and many extended family members. He is preceded in death by Jay McNemar (father), Kathleen Hawkins Rowland (mother) and Clifford Rowland (stepfather).

Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life on Monday, November 17, 2025, at Callaway-Jones Funeral Home, 3001 S College Avenue, Bryan, TX.
