Charles Dixon Sadler, Lt. Col. USAF (Ret) 

February 10, 1938 - January 7, 2026 

Charles Dixon Sadler, 87 of Lake Mexia, passed away on January 7, 2026, at his residence. He was born on February 10, 1938 in Mexia, Texas to Algie Buck & Annie Bell Gibson Sadler.

After graduating from Mexia High School, he graduated from Texas A&M University with his degree in Physical Education. He served in the United States Air Force, retiring after 26 years as a Lieutenant Colonel. He was a substitute teacher for 17 years in Mexia and Coolidge ISD’s. During his service, he was stationed in many desirable places such as Biloxi, Mississippi, Ft. Walton Beach, Florida, Myrle Beach, South Carolina, Hawaii, Oklahoma City and Las Vegas, Nevada. He served under four generals.

Charles married his high school sweetheart, Nancy Arrant in 1962 at the Methodist Church in Mexia. He was described as a scratch golfer.

Cherishing Charles’ memory are his wife, Nancy Sadler of Mexia, sons, Shane Sadler of Shaun, Oklahoma and Scott Sadler of Colleyville, Texas, as well as many special cousins.
