John Scott Bezner 

February 16, 1946 - December 24, 2025 

John Scott Bezner, son of Ralph Bezner and Nora Bezner, died peacefully after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

John was born in Wichita Falls, Texas, and was the first of 6 children, Steve, Russell, Leanne, Gary, and Lori. John attended Riverside High School in Ft. Worth, class of 1964. He attended Tarleton State University on a baseball scholarship and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Texas Arlington and a Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University. John was proud of the time he spent as quarterback for an amateur Missouri State Championship football team.

His professional career was spent working for the U.S. Army as a civilian, and later was an executive for the aerospace company, Lockheed Martin. He received many awards and accolades during his 40 years working for the government and Lockheed. He traveled across the globe during those years and guided others to excel under his management. He was recognized for developing an offshoot company for Lockheed and later served as President of that remote automotive calibration service.

When John retired from Lockheed, he founded the Searchworks Group, which provided Executive Search service for the Defense Industry. His son-in-law, Jeremy Vanselous, and daughter, Heather Vanselous took over that company when John retired a second time, and it has been running successfully for over 18 years with Jeremy serving as President and lead recruiter.

Throughout his career, John enjoyed traveling with his wife Barbara and their miniature Schnauzers. A friendly competition of owning various RVs developed between John and his brothers, and provided great family vacations over the years.

John will be remembered by his friends and family as someone they could rely upon whenever the need arose. With the highest integrity and desire to help others, John led his family by example. He will be remembered by all who knew him as someone who was strong, intelligent, humorous, humble, honest, and considerate. He will be missed by many, but forever in our hearts and minds.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara; siblings, Steve, Russell, Lori, and Gary; his beloved children Zack and Heather; beautiful and accomplished grandchildren, Dax, Deacon, and Ava. He was preceded in death by his sister, Leanne, and his parents, Ralph and Nora.
