William Thomas "Tom" Glass 

December 14, 1933 - January 3, 2026 

Mr. William (Tom) Glass ‘56, age 92, passed away on January 3, 2026 peacefully in his sleep at home. He was born on December 14, 1933, a son of the late Dr. Sydney and Jeanette Glass.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, his half-sisters Annie Leo Glass Woltman, Sidney (Cissie) Glass Bragg, Patricia Jane (Patsy) Glass Chastain and Susan Neely Glass Fitzhugh, and his son William (David) Glass. He is survived by his half-sisters Helen Glass Conley of Murfreesboro, TN and Mary Dudley Glass Houk of Germantown, TN, his half-brother Robert Tindall Glass of Washington, DC and his daughter Sarah Glass Carriger ’81 (Texas A&M), his grandsons Jeremy and Daniel Holder, two great-grandsons Gabriel and Lucas Holder and his partner Paula Huffman.

Tom graduated from Texas A&M in 1956 with a degree in Business Administration. He broke into the field of computer programming in 1964 while working for Hughes Tool Company in Houston (a Howard Hughes company). He was a dedicated father to his 2 children David and Sarah and loved to take them fishing, camping and playing ping pong and basketball with them. He was always present at their ballgames, track meets, ballet recitals and tennis tournaments.

He was an active and cherished member of his church in Las Vegas and participated in many community services initiatives to help those in need.

He was also an active member of the Las Vegas A&M Club and spent many Saturdays with his A&M buddies watching the A&M football games. Because he was a diehard Aggie, for all the years his children lived at home, Thanksgiving meant the A&M-Texas game and turkey was second!

His daughter Sarah followed in his footsteps and became a diehard Aggie also. Gig ‘Em!
