Larry Wayne Haag
September 10, 1956 - September 22, 2025
With deep sorrow but unshakable hope, we share the passing of our beloved Husband, Pops, Dad, and Friend. Larry went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 22nd, 2025, at the age of 69. He passed peacefully at home, surrounded by the comforting presence of his Savior.
Born on September 10th, 1956 in New Braunfels, Texas to Alice and Melford Haag. Larry lived a life marked by grace, humility, and unwavering faith. From his earliest days, he was a light to those around him, and he continued to shine that light throughout his life by living out the love of Jesus Christ in everything he did.
Larry was a devoted follower of Christ—his relationship with Jesus wasn’t just a part of his life; it was the foundation of it. He led with quiet strength and a servant’s heart, always quick to pray with someone in need, lend a helping hand, or speak words of encouragement drawn from Scripture. His faith was real, steady, and lived out daily—not just in church, but in every conversation, every act of kindness, and every sacrifice made for others.
He shared a beautiful life with Tanja, whom he married on December 5th, 1987. Their love was a true reflection of Christ’s love for the church—faithful, forgiving, and enduring. Together, they built a home filled with warmth, laughter, prayer, and purpose.
Larry was a proud Husband, Father, and Pops, and a deeply generous soul. He loved polka music, The Texas Aggies, conservative podcasts, and spending time with his family. He had a special way of making people feel seen, loved, and valued—not by his own strength, but because he knew the One who gives life meaning.
He is survived by his wife, Tanja Haag, his brother and sister-in law, Sandra and Scott Haag, his children; Truitt and Brittany Henson, Laura and Scott Wagley, and Jerod and Abby Haag. He also loved his eight grandchildren; Mckenna, Kaylin, Tristynn, Nolan, Peighton, Rexton, Lynnon, Tucker, and his soon to be great-grandson, Orion. His family will continue to walk in faith as he taught them—by example, by prayer, and by love. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alice and Melford Haag, and we rejoice knowing they are now reunited in Heaven.
A celebration of Larry’s life and faith will be held on September 30th at 1:00pm at Church Eleven32. Friends and loved ones are welcome to gather, remember, and give thanks for a life that pointed so clearly to Christ.
Though we grieve deeply, we do not grieve without hope. Larry is now in the presence of his Savior, hearing the words he longed to hear: “Well done, good and faithful servant.” His legacy of faith will live on in each of us, until we meet again.
