Collin Balogh '24 February 5, 2026 2:31 PM updated: February 5, 2026 2:39 PM

Collin Michael Balogh

March 25, 2002 - January 25, 2026

Collin Michael Balogh, 23, of Mont Belvieu, Texas, passed away on January 25, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, kindness, and unwavering dedication to everything he pursued.

Born on March 25, 2002, to Diane and Andy Balogh, Collin was the youngest of three boys and brought immeasurable joy to everyone, fortunate enough to know him. His infectious smile and natural gift for comedy made him light up every room he entered. Family and friends alike believed he could have been a great stand-up comedian—his humor and sharp wit afforded everyone a good time in his presence.

Collin's commitment to service and excellence began early. He advanced through Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts to earn the prestigious rank of Eagle Scout. All three Balogh boys are Eagle Scouts but Collin holds the title of being the youngest one among his brothers to get to the distinguished award first. He was an active member of the Methodist church and attended Bible School throughout his youth. He was awarded Honorable Mention Academic All-State Team for football at Barbers Hill ISD his senior year. He also won a spot on the Peer Assistance Leadership (PAL) team. A PAL is trained to serve as peer mentors offering guidance to students in lower grades. His athletic pursuits extended to baseball, football, and taekwondo, and later he developed a passion for golfing and Formula 1 racing.

A talented musician and performer, Collin played trombone beginning in the 6th grade at Ereckson Middle School, Allen TX. In the 9th grade he marched under the Friday night lights with the Allen Eagle Escadrille playing the trombone very proudly. Both his brothers also played trombone and were part of the band, this led to competitions on who can play the fight song the best during routine family dinners. Collin also was a part of the musicals at a very young age until his eight-grade year. The family transferred to Houston TX when Collin was a sophomore and he attended Second Baptist School, Houston. He later transferred to Barbers Hill High School for his junior and senior years. He graduated from high school during the challenging COVID-19 pandemic and went on to earn both his Bachelor's in Accounting and Masters in Management Information Systems from the prestigious May’s Business School at Texas A&M University. He was also a member of the Aggie Business Brothers Association. At the time of his passing, he was working diligently toward completing his CPA exams, determined to achieve this professional milestone. He was slated to begin his first adult job in the summer 2026 for Ernst and Young in Dallas Tx. He wore his Aggie Ring with immense pride and joy. His grandfather Jim Roberts, (Gaga), who graduated in 1958 from Texas A&M was so proud to have the tradition carried on, and to have another Twelfth man in the family. Whoop!!!

He also served as a camp counselor at Pine Cove Christian Camp, worked part time at HEB both in Mont Belvieu and College Station and recently as a server for Iguana Joe’s all through his high school and college life.

Family meant everything to Collin. Along with his brother, Carter, they stood as the best men for Christopher’s wedding this past fall—a role that reflected the deep bond he shared with his Balogh brothers. Their best man’s speech brought the house down and was one of the highlights of Chris and Riley’s beautiful wedding day. He was a devoted dog lover and his beloved childhood dogs were Catcher, Connor, Beaux and Oliver.

Collin lived with purpose, faith, and service in his heart. He had an extraordinary ability to make others laugh. His absence leaves an irreplaceable void, but his memory will continue to bring smiles to all who knew him.

Collin is survived by his parents, Diane and Andy Balogh of Mont Belvieu TX; his two brothers, Christopher and his new sister-in-law Riley Balogh of Dallas TX; Carter Balogh of Allen TX; Grandparents, Diane and Jim Roberts (Mimi and Gaga) of Ft Worth, TX; Aunt and Uncles Carolyn and David Roberts of Ft Worth, TX and Gregory Roberts of Ft Worth, TX; Susie Balogh and Judy Balogh of New Jersey. First cousins Kelsey and Freeze Roberts and their daughters Lenna, Corrie and Lilly; Emily and John David Roberts and their son John David Jr., James Roberts of California and Raeleigh Roberts of Ft Worth and countless extended family and friends.
