James Jay Crisp 

September 8, 1935 - December 3, 2025 

James "Jim" Jay Crisp, 90 Paris, passed away December 3, 2025.

He was born September 8, 1935 in New Iberia, Louisiana to Bryant Buchanan and Christine Crisp. He was a 1953 graduate of Paris High School and graduated in 1958 with a BA in Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M University. Jim married Amanda Alice Ingram on September 8, 1956 in Paris, Texas. He was an avid car collector and loved to spend time with his family. His career of engineering gave him great joy and he was extremely proud of his time in the Naval Reserve and his work with the Army Air Force Exchange (AAFES).

Survivors include his four grandchildren, Amanda Gail Ramsey DVM and husband Tyler Leach, James Conner Crisp, Kendall Rene' Crisp Andres and husband John Andres, and William Buchanan Ramsey and wife Lexi Ramsey; two great grandchildren Wyatt Ramsey and Autry Andres; one sister Mary Jane and husband Bill Hutto; and one daughter in law, Sonja Crisp Paxton.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years Amanda; his parents; two children, James Bryant Crisp and Jean Ann Crisp Ramsey; one grandchild, James Jason Ramsey; and one sister, Diane.

A memorial graveside service has been set for Monday, December 29, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Providence Cemetery. Family and friends will officiate.
