Robert H. Stobart passed away December 10, 2025, from complications related to a fall. Born July 7, 1949, to John and Evelyn Stobart, he was raised in Great Falls, Montana. He was preceded in death by his parents, an older brother, and a twin sister.
He received his Master’s in Animal Science from the University of Montana and his PhD in Animal Science from Texas A&M University. He joined the faculty at the University of Wyoming in Laramie in 1983 and retired in 2014.
Bob specialized in sheep production during his university career. He traveled all over the world as a consultant including a year sabbatical in New Zealand and another year in South Australia, taught classes, mentored many students, and served as an extension agent throughout Wyoming. A portion of his estate will be donated to the FFA sheep program.
Activities he participated in during his life were travel, flying small planes, snowmobiling, fishing, camping, skiing, and other outdoor pursuits. He especially enjoyed time at his cabin in Morgan, Wyoming, where his ashes will be spread next summer.
