Philip Leo Suter 

June 8, 1959 - December 8, 2025 

Philip Leo Suter, born June 8, 1959, in Tacoma Park, Maryland, passed away December 8, 2025. Upon graduation from Lamar Consolidated High School in Rosenberg, Texas, he graduated from Texas A&M University in 1981 with a degree in marketing. He married the love of his life, Cheryl Kucherka, on January 16, 1982.

Phil worked for CenterPoint Energy (formerly Houston Lighting & Power) for 42 years in a wide range of positions, retiring in July of 2024. He and his wife, Cheryl, were founding members of St. Laurence Catholic Church in Sugar Land, where he took an active role over the years. Phil had many interests including fishing, hunting, working on the farm and woodworking. He could "fix" anything. He and Cheryl spent years creating their backyard oasis which they enjoyed to the fullest. For the past several years, Phil and Cheryl traveled extensively, creating memories of a lifetime.

Phil was an accomplished man, but his greatest legacy is his love and devotion to his family and friends. He was a special son, husband, father, grandfather and friend. He was kind, gentle, compassionate, funny, smart, loyal and faith-filled. He was loved and respected by everyone he met as he lived his life around faith, family and friends. He will be missed beyond measure.

Phil is preceded in death by his daughter, Kelly Suter; parents, Richard and Helen Suter; father and mother-in-law, Stanley and Magdalene Kucherka; brother-in-law, Chris Kucherka.

Survivors include his wife, Cheryl Kucherka Suter; son, Andrew Suter and wife, Kasie, and grandson, Garrett Andrew; "bonus" daughter, Katie Novitsky and husband, Alan, along with grandchildren, Adeline, Joseph, Everly and Thomas; "bonus" daughter, Kylie Johnson and husband, Daniel, along with grandchildren, Evalyn, Preslie, Wells, Collins and Remi; brothers, Stephen Suter and wife, Ginger; Richard Suter and wife, Geri; Tom Suter and wife, Johnnie Kay; John Suter and wife, Kim; Paul Suter and wife, Susan; Jim Suter; sister-in-law, Kathy Rod and husband, Glen; brothers-in-law, Kenny Kucherka, and James Kucherka and wife, Emily; along with many nieces, nephews and a host of wonderful friends and extended family.
