December 20, 1944 - November 29, 2025
Charles Robert Glagola (Chick) passed away on November 29, 2025, at Bethany House, in Auburn Alabama.
He was born on December 20, 1944, in Alexandria, Louisiana, and moved at a young age to Pensacola, Florida. He graduated with a degree in civil engineering from Texas A&M University and served in the Army in Vietnam. Chick received graduate degrees from Auburn University and Clemson University and was a member of Tau Beta Pi and Chi Epsilon, engineering honor societies. He was also a member of Kappa Alpha fraternity. He worked in the private sector for more than two decades, followed by teaching in the civil engineering department at the University of Florida for more than 20 years.
Throughout his life, Chick enjoyed a rich social life, playing the guitar, hunting, fishing, and spending time with family and friends.
Chick was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Annabelle Glagola and his sister, Barbara Ann Glagola. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Becky Chappell Glagola and his two daughters, Jennie Glagola of Auburn, AL and Caroline Glagola Dunn (Joseph) of Columbia, SC.
Arrangements for interment at Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, will be made at a later date.
