Roger Carrillo '78 January 30, 2026 1:24 PM updated: January 30, 2026 1:36 PM

Roger Trevino Carrillo

March 18, 1955 - January 27, 2026

Roger T. Carrillo, AIA Emeritus, 70, of San Antonio, Texas, entered eternal rest January 27, 2026, from his home surrounded by his loving wife Beth and two of his daughters Jasmine and Mercedes.

A devoted husband, father, brother, and friend, Roger will be remembered for his deep Catholic faith, his devotion to family, and his lifelong passion for architecture and service to the San Antonio community.

Born on March 18, 1955, in San Antonio to Ramon and Oralia Carrillo, Roger grew up in a close-knit family guided by faith, love, and responsibility—values that shaped every aspect of his life. He attended St. Paul’s Catholic School and graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1973, where he proudly served as a member of the Chaminade Guard drill team.

A proud Aggie, Roger earned his Bachelor of Environmental Design in 1978 and a Master’s in Architecture in 1981 from Texas A&M University. During his studies, he participated in an international design competition for the Louvre in Paris, where he was named First Alternate to the top award, an honor he cherished throughout his career.

Roger’s professional life reflected his dedication to building both communities and futures. As Executive Director of Avenida Guadalupe, he worked tirelessly to secure funding and oversee commercial development projects benefiting San Antonio’s low-income districts, leaving behind a legacy of care and vision.

At the center of his life was his enduring Catholic faith. Roger often said his greatest blessing was his wife, Beth Pascual Carrillo, with whom he faithfully prayed the Rosary, strengthening their bond through prayer and devotion.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ramon and Oralia Carrillo whom he credited for his strong Catholic Faith.

Roger is survived by Beth, his daughters Jacqueline and her husband Mathew Kilivris, Jasmine, Mercedes Marie; his seven brothers, Xavier, and wife Tori, Hector, and his wife Karen, Rey, and his wife Abby, Cesar, Jossh, Christopher, and his wife Luz, and Benjamin, and his wife Valerie as well as Roger’s three sisters, Hilda and her husband Kenny, Oralia, and Irma and her husband David, all of us who will cherish his memory always.
