Ava Lawson White
March 17, 2004 - October 16, 2025
Ava Lawson White, adored daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away far too soon on October 16, 2025, at the age of 21.
Born on March 17, 2004, in Plano, Texas, Ava was raised in Highland Park, where her big blue eyes, bright smile, kind heart, and determined spirit left an impression on everyone who knew her.
A proud Highland Park Scot, Ava served as captain of her high school softball team and played trumpet in the Varsity band. Her leadership, compassion, and dedication shone through in everything she did—whether on the field, or in the lives she touched.
Ava was whip smart, inquisitive, and devoted to finishing her studies at Texas A&M University, where she pursued her Bachelor of Science degree with passion and purpose. She was eagerly anticipating her graduation in May 2026 and had already accepted a full time job offer in Sales at AT&T post-graduation. She also loved working as a sales intern at proValus during college—a testament to her hard work and ambition.
Ava loved fiercely; was loyal, protective, and deeply empathetic; and truly wanted the best for everyone around her. She was driven by her deep love for Jesus, her family, her friends, her soulmate, Daniel Shawver, and their cherished dog, Birdy, who brought her endless joy and comfort.
She is survived by her devoted parents, Christopher Lawson White and Joann Lauren Chatfield; her loving brother, Mitchel Reese McQuarie, his wife Amber; Ava’s adored nephew, Sawyer James; and a community of extended family and friends.
Ava’s life was a reflection of her faith and her belief in God’s plan, even through life’s uncertainties. Her favorite verse, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.” — Proverbs 3:5–6, was one she lived by daily, guiding her through every challenge and triumph.
Though her time with us was heartbreakingly short, Ava’s love, warmth, laughter, and spirit will forever live on in the hearts of everyone who knew and loved her.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 30th, 2025 at 3:00 in the afternoon at Highland Park United Methodist Church, 3300 Mockingbird Ln., Dallas, TX.
