January 13, 1936 - January 25, 2026 

Funeral services for Fritzie Connally, 90 of Lexington, Texas, are scheduled for 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 30, 2026, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Lexington, with Father Andrew Dinh officiating. Burial will follow in the Burns Cemetery in Blue, Texas. A reception will follow the graveside service at the Holy Family Catholic Church Parish Activity Center in Lexington.

Fritzie Lee Connally was born on January 13, 1936 in Floresville, Texas, the son of Milton Roland Connally and Lorene Martha (Teltschik) Connally. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in San Antonio in 1954 and from Texas A&M University in 1958. While at A&M, Fritzie lettered in track and basketball granting him membership in the Texas A&M Letterman Association, of which he was a member until his death. He developed a lifelong love for Texas A&M University and anything that involved the Aggies.

On June 8, 1957, he married Elizabeth “Byrne” Jackson at St. Neuman Catholic Church in Austin, Texas. He worked for Diamond Shamrock, which eventually became Ecolab, for 40 years. After retiring, he and Byrne moved to the family ranch in Lexington where he enjoyed tending to the ranch, usually on his tractor. He also liked fishing and trips to the Frio River. He was happiest when he was spending time with and surrounded by his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Fritzie passed away unexpectedly the evening of Sunday, January 25, 2026 at Burleson St. Joseph Health Center in Caldwell.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Roland Connally and Lorene Connally and a brother, Charles Connally.

Fritzie is survived by his wife of 68 years, Byrne Connally of Lexington; two sons and daughters-in-law, Fritz Jr. & Mindy Connally of Arlington and Kelly Byrne & Robyn Connally of Anahuac; seven grandchildren, Brittany & Austin Wood of Baytown, Abigail & Jacob Joines of Baytown, Mary Byrne & John McLain of Arlington, Margaret & John Kash of Ft. Worth, Travis & Brittany Latz of Arkansas, Kylie & Steven Wofford of Baytown, and Garett & Jessie Spencer of Ft. Worth and twelve great grandchildren, John David, Dallas Byrne, Miller, Graham, Lawson Byrne, Connally, Jensen Lee, Scotty, Liam, Parker, Brooks and Adeline.

Pallbearers will be Austin Wood, Jacob Joines, John McLain, John Kash, Garett Spencer, and Steven Wofford. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Speier, Steve Stanfield and Travis Latz.
