Charles Eugene Wright, age 87, passed away at his daughter’s home in Streetman, Texas, on January 14, 2026. He was born on September 30, 1938, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Edward and Gladys Wright.
Charles is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Patricia Wright; daughter Amy Johnson and husband Trae; sisters Barbara Kilby and Shirley Davis; and grandchildren Hayden Johnson and Hannah Johnson, who were the light of his life. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A proud graduate of Texas A&M University, Class of 1960, Charles was an Aggie and a die-hard Texas A&M football supporter and season ticket holder for many years. He often traveled to games in his travel trailer, making cherished memories along the way.
Charles had a strong work ethic and pursued many career endeavors throughout his professional life. He was a mechanical engineer at Bell Helicopter and owned an electrical company, WWM Inc. Charles also owned and operated an architectural business and designed many homes throughout his career. He once owned a drive-thru grocery store in Arlington, a purchase made out of love for his mother, allowing her to continue working doing what she enjoyed.
Charles had a deep love for sports, his animals, and, above all, his grandchildren. Charles will be remembered for his generosity, devotion to family, and Aggie spirit.
