Douglas Barton "Doug" Page

October 13, 1947 - November 23, 2025

Douglas Barton Page, 78, of Midland, Texas passed away on November 23, 2025.

Doug was born on October 13, 1947, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to the late Charles Newton Page and Lucie Rose (Barton) Page. As soon as he was able to travel, his mother returned from Oklahoma with her family back to Midland, and Doug has been a resident ever since. He grew up attending his family's church St. Nicholas Episcopal Church, where he was an Acolyte and active with the Boy Scouts and Eagle Scouts. He graduated from Lee High School in 1966. He went on to attend Texas A&M University. He was very active with several campus organizations. He was editor on the Aggieland Yearbook and in 1970, Phi Eta Sigma, Polaris Council, D.S., Outstanding Freshman, A2 R.V. D.M.S. and the Aggie Corps of Cadets. He also honorably served in the United States Army.

Professionally he was an accomplished Landscape Architect. He proudly helped to design and personally install the trees and planting in the Original Centennial Park. Though Doug would never brag personally his work and craftsmanship was much sought after.

Doug will be remembered as one of the good guys. He was a man whose life was marked by kindness and generosity. He married the love of his life Jean Dawkins on May 26, 1998. Together they created partnership in love and mutual respect. They enjoyed photography and travel. He loved Midland history and was a volunteer with the Midland History Museum. Through their union he gained a host of Dawkins and Hildreth relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Donald Williams Page and another infant sibling; his father and mother-in-law, Vern and Lillymay (Hildreth) Dawkins; and brother-in-law, Donald Dawkins.

He is survived by his devoted wife Jean Dawkins Page, a host of nieces, a nephew, and numerous cousins.

He will be laid to rest with his parents privately at Resthaven Memorial Park. Services of care have been entrusted to Ellis Funeral Home.
