Steven Ross "Steve" Torno 

June 3, 1978 - November 15, 2025 

Steven "Steve" Ross Torno passed away on Saturday, November 15th, 2025, at the age of 47. He is preceded in death by his mother, Linda Fay (Vickers) Torno, and is survived by his wife, Virginia (Moriarty) Torno; father, Glen Ray Torno; son, Tyson Torno; daughter, Hailey Torno; sister, Shannon Madden (husband Glenn); brother, Shane Torno (wife Amy); and a host of many other family and friends.

Steve was born on June 3rd, 1978 in Corpus Christi, Texas. He grew up there and graduated from Mary Carroll High School in 1996. From there, he attended Texas A&M University before graduating from Sam Houston State University with a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, as well as an Associates degree in Criminal Justice.

Steve held a career in construction management with progressive leadership roles, starting as a construction manager in residential construction, progressing to leading the construction of high rise buildings and healthcare facilities, and culminating as a Senior Project Manager at A&F General Contractors. He enjoyed the challenges that these projects brought and seeing the fruits of his labor.

Steve was a devoted and loving husband, father, brother, son, and friend. He was a die hard Cowboys fan, through the fun times and the tough times. Steve was also a Houston Texans fan, despite people telling him it is not possible to be fans of both teams. He remained loyal to the Texas A&M Aggies, the Houston Astros and the San Antonio Spurs. He enjoyed spending time with his family, grilling and smoking meat for them, as well as his famous "potato explosion."

Steve's favorite hobby was coaching his children's soccer teams. Steve loved coaching youth soccer and helping children learn the game in fun, effective and memorable ways. Some may remember his creative idea of using buckets from Home Depot as the bench for the players. Steve also loved to play soccer himself as a forward or goalie. He played high school soccer and went on to enjoy indoor soccer as an adult. Another favorite hobby was building Legos with Tyson and Hailey. It was a great way to spend time together, and he now has a sizeable collection to pass on to future grandchildren.

Steve enjoyed deer hunting with his family and son, and listened to all kinds of music. Steve loved to have fun and make people laugh, and was known to tell captivating stories. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

A Celebration of Steve's life will be held on Saturday, November 22nd, 2025, at Clayton Funeral Home of Pearland.
