Jesus "Jesse" Guzman 

December 6, 1947 - January 15, 2026 

Jesus Guzman entered eternal rest on January 15, 2026 at the age of 78. He was born on December 6, 1947, in Del Rio, Texas. He graduated from Del Rio High School and went on to attend Texas A&M University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics (1970) and a master’s degree in educational administration (1976). He returned to Del Rio where he served in education for 37 years.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Esperanza Guzman; grandmother, Clara Guzman; aunt, Mary Guzman; and uncle, Juan Guzman. Jesus is survived by his loving wife of 55 years Elida (Enriquez) Guzman; son, Jesus Guzman, Jr. and his wife Angel; daughter, Maria Pinales and her husband Telesforo Jose Pinales, Jr.; son, Jose Guzman and his wife Rachel; grandchildren, Telesforo Jose Pinales III, Anna Pinales, Aaron Guzman, Matthew Guzman, Isabel Guzman, Elizabeth Guzman, Adrian Guzman, Caroline Guzman, Anthony Guzman, and Katherine Guzman; and numerous other loving family members and friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, from 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South located at 1700 S.E. Military Dr. A final viewing at the funeral home will begin at 8:00 A.M. followed by a funeral procession departing at 9:30 A.M. on Thursday, January 22, 2026, for a Mass at 10:00 A.M. at Santo Nino Catholic Church at 5655 Rigsby Ave. Interment to follow at Mission Burial Park South.
