Donald Jackson Murray, 86, of Carrollton, Texas, passed away peacefully at his residence on November 8, 2025, surrounded by his family.
Mr. Murray was born on May 11, 1939, in Houston, Texas, to Harry and Ruth Murray. He was raised in Beaumont, Texas, and honorably served in the United States Army beginning in 1963. He was a proud graduate of Texas A&M University, where he earned a degree in Business Administration.
Mr. Murray devoted the majority of his professional career to the large-animal health industry, notably guiding the Starbar Division of Zoecon Industries. Following his tenure there, he continued to work in the industry until his retirement. Throughout his career he formed many enduring friendships, which he maintained faithfully throughout his life. Known for his remarkable storytelling, he touched the lives of colleagues and friends alike.
Outside his professional endeavors, Mr. Murray was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed annual hunting trips in the Northwest United States. He was also a dedicated supporter of Texas A&M football. In addition, he worked alongside his wife, Marsha, on incentive travel programs for top sales professionals, making significant contributions to many annual awards events.
Mr. Murray is survived by his wife, Marsha; three daughters, Colleen Simmons (Chad), Melissa Lechman (John), and Lindsey May (Ben); and two bonus daughters, Erin Chartrain (Andrew) and Brittany King (Keith). He is also survived by eight grandchildren—Austin, Kate, Jack, Luke, Andrew, Nicholas, Callie, and Lila—and two great-grandchildren; Harper and Palmer. Although an only child, Mr. Murray was blessed with two lifelong friends whom he regarded as brothers: Billy Jo Levy and Dave Myklegard.
