Augustin Charles Villalobos, affectionately known as Augie, departed from this world on Monday, November 3, 2025, in Gallatin, Tennessee. Born September 21, 1980, in Corpus Christi, Texas, he was the son of Mary Ann Villalobos and the late Agustin Villalobos. Augie’s journey through life was marked by a deep love for his family, and a passion for engineering.
From an early age, Augie was captivated by the world of steel structural engineering, inspired by his childhood hero, Ron Guzman. This passion fueled his career at Kirby Building Systems, where he made his childhood dream a reality. Augie’s determination and dedication to his work were evident, and he took pride in contributing to the creation of steel frameworks that would stand the test of time.
Educationally, Augie began his collegiate journey at Texas A&M University but was deeply impacted by the traumatic events surrounding the 1999 bonfire collapse. This experience ultimately led him to continue his studies at Texas A&M Kingsville. Augie's aspiration to become a steel structural civil engineer was a testament to his unwavering commitment to his goals despite life’s challenges.
Outside of his professional ambitions, Augie embraced a variety of interests that brought joy to his life. A devoted fan of Star Wars, music, and Texas A&M athletics, he displayed a spirited enthusiasm for the Dallas Cowboys. Above all, he treasured moments spent with his family, embodying a loving husband and father who relished quality time with his loved ones.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents and paternal grandparents.
Augie is survived by his beloved wife of 11 years, Elizabeth Martin-Villalobos; his cherished daughter, Zipporah Ophelia “Zippy” Villalobos; and his devoted mother, Mary Ann Villalobos. He also leaves behind his father-in-law, Joey Martin; mother-in-law, Susie Martin; sister, Vanessa (Gabe) Casanova; brothers Emmanuel and Fernando Villalobos; lifelong friends who were like siblings to him Ron (Sylvia) Guzman and Liz (Arnold) Guzman Aguilar; sister-in-law, Sarah (Corey) Brown, and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Each of these relationships contributed to the vibrant tapestry of his life, and they will carry his memory forward.
