Thad Hogan '58 January 9, 2026 12:17 PM updated: January 9, 2026 2:09 PM

Thad R. Hogan

August 24, 1936 - December 22, 2025

It is with sadness and regret that we announce the passing of Thad Hogan, who passed away at his home in Tomball, Texas, on December 22, 2025.

I am Thad Hogan '58 and my life in Texas started in 1948. During WW II my
father sold his flour milling company in Kansas and was then trained by the U.S.
government at The Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Florida. He was
assigned to teach at the Brazilian Aviation Academy in Sao Paulo, Brazil. When
the war ended we (my parents and two older brothers) moved to Argentina
from Brazil where my dad started selling milling equipment. In 1948 we moved
back to the United States and my dad selected Houston, Texas to move to. My
freshman college year was at Kansas State. Since my parents started living
overseas. they felt I needed more supervision so they had me transfer to Texas
A&M with my older brother David. So, I started my sophomore year at A&M in
1955 and was assigned to "B" Infantry which turned out to be a blessing. I
graduated in the Class '58 with a Business Degree and a 2nd Lt. commission. I
served in the army at Fort Benning and while there received my paratrooper
badge. I received an early Honorable Discharge to attend graduate school at
The American Institute of Foreign Trade in Glendale, Arizona. My business
career started with the H.J. Heinz Co. in Mexico City. Then, I worked for the CPC
Corp. in Mexico, Los Angeles and Illinois. My final employment was with Mary
Kay Cosmetics in Dallas, Texas as their Sr. Vice President of International.

I am proud that the Aggie tradition has continued with my son, Thad Hogan II '87,
grandsons Thad Hogan III '18, and Madison Holt '17 and daughter Heather
Hogan '90. Also my brother David Hogan '57.
