Roll Call Tribute

Jaime Giraldo Sr. '74 January 6, 2026 12:04 PM updated: January 6, 2026 12:10 PM

Jaime Antonio Giraldo, Sr.

May 4, 1948 - August 11, 2025

It is with deep sorrow and abiding love that we announce the passing of our beloved pastor, husband, father, and grandfather, Pastor Jaime Antonio Giraldo Sr., who went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 11, 2025, at 11:50 AM.

Pastor Jaime Giraldo faithfully led the Lord’s congregation with love, wisdom, and unwavering devotion to God’s Word. His life was a radiant testament to the grace of Jesus Christ, and his legacy of faith will continue to inspire generations to come. While we grieve his loss here on earth, we rejoice in knowing he is now in the presence of his Savior—where there is no pain, no suffering, only joy everlasting.

Born in Yungay, Peru, Pastor Jaime was affectionately known as “Boliche” by his loved ones. He was the youngest child of Elias Giraldo Pajuelo and Celinda Vasques Canicoba. He was preceded in death by his siblings Mariscot Elias Giraldo Vasquez, Herminia Giraldo Vasquez, Zenin Luiciano Giraldo Vasquez, and Juan Inocencio Giraldo Vasquez. He is survived by his sister, Eufrasia Natalina Vasquez.

He attended Colegio Nacional Santa Inés de Yungay, where he stood out as a talented soccer player, proudly wearing the jersey of the club La Suiza Peruana. Though he never had the opportunity to return to his homeland, he carried its spirit in his heart throughout his life. After immigrating to the United States without knowing English, Pastor Jaime defied the odds and earned his degree from Texas A&M University, becoming a civil engineer and architect. He used his talents to build churches and serve communities, always pointing others toward God’s power and grace.

Pastor Jaime was the devoted husband of Ann Giraldo, his faithful partner and beloved wife of over 44 years. Together, they built a life centered on faith, family, and unconditional love. They were blessed with four children: Jaime A. Giraldo Jr., Luis Garza, Jerry Garza, and the late Paula Garza. He was a proud grandfather to Victoria Giraldo, Viviana Giraldo, Jaime Giraldo III, Rene Garza, Brenda Garza, Aubree Garza, Jay Garza, Cassy Garza, Mark Garza, Jessica Montes, Celinda Sanchez and various great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

Pastor Jaime Giraldo was a man of deep faith, boundless generosity, and quiet strength. He helped countless people through his ministry, his wisdom, and his compassion. Though he is no longer with us, each of us carries a piece of him in our hearts—his teachings, his love, and his spirit live on.

His passing follows that of his parents, Elias Giraldo Pajuelo and Celinda Vasques Canicoba, and his daughter Paula Garza. He leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and service that will never be forgotten.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 16th, 2025, at 6:00 PM. At Jesus Loves You Church, 310 Waters Avenue, Del Rio, Texas. We welcome all who knew and loved him to join us in celebrating a life well-lived.
