James “Jabbo” Warren Horrell was born November 26, 1928, in Ennis, Texas, and passed from this life to his eternal home on December 11th, 2025, at the age of 97. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Mable M. Horrell, brother, John Edgar Horrell, and sister, Jeanette White.

Along life’s journey, James admits that his most important achievement was marrying Mazie (Jane) O’Rear. James served in the Army during the Korean Conflict era. He attended Texas A&M University to study Architecture and Business Administration. While at A&M, he played the drums in the marching band. He enjoyed flying his own airplane for over 15 years for business and pleasure. In the middle business years, James was active as a new member recruiter for numerous Chamber of Commerce and Lions Clubs, where he was an officer in each.

Burial will be at the Dallas-Ft. Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas. He is survived by his loving wife of 74 years, Mazie Jane O’Rear Horrell, daughter Olivia Jan Horrell Ott, daughter Beverly Sue Horrell Carter, 5 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, and many other loving family members and friends. He will forever be remembered, loved, and missed by many.
