James Henry Rix

May 31, 1947 - November 27, 2025

James Henry Rix was born on May 31st, 1947 in El Campo, Texas. He grew up in Corpus Christi and Raymondville, Texas, graduating from Raymondville High School in 1965 and subsequently graduating from Texas A & M University in 1969 with a degree in Business Administration. Jim worked for many companies during his career that led to his retirement from USAA in 2015. Jim passed peacefully into the arms of our Lord and Savior on November 27, 2025.

He is preceded in death by his parents Lenora and Henry Rix, and a brother, Donald Rix. He is survived by his wife, Lucy Rix; children, Mark (Rey) Reyes, Brooke Braune & husband Chris Braune, and Melissa Rix; grandsons, Mark Reyes, Jr., Adam Reyes, Jake Reyes, and Cade Reyes; sisters, Linda Hobbs & husband, Chester Hobbs, Penny Bump & husband Daniel Bump, Cathy Hess and Husband Edwin Hess; nieces, Kimberly Beck and husband Jason Beck, Lauren Chervinskis & husband Stephen Chervinskis; nephews, Michael Hobbs, Brandon Hobbs, Gregory Hobbs, Chase Kendrick, Travis Hess & wife Karen Tart, Ryan Hess, great-nieces, Kaliyah Beck, Faye Hobbs, Elle Chervinskis, Sloan Chervinskis, Tatum Chervinskis; great-nephews, Leith Beck, Kai Beck, Royce Hobbs, Grundy Hobbs, Gabriel Hess, and Simon Hess.

Celebration of Jim's Life will be held on December 13th, 2:00 P.M. at Journey Fellowship, 16847 I-35, Selma, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to Journey Fellowship, Tunnel to Towers Foundation, or St. Jude Research Hospital.
