Lt. Colonel Robert Edward Moelich, "Bob", 77, of Navarre, Florida, passed away peacefully at his home November 30, 2024, surrounded by loved ones. Bob, or call sign "Moe" to those who worked with him, was born in Mobile, Alabama, along with his twin, Susan Moelich Rivera, on August 29, 1947 to William E. and Bobbye A. Moelich.
Born into a military family, Bob grew up across the United States and abroad to include Hawaii and Sweden. While attending Texas A&M, his parents were in Mexico as Air Attache. During a break from school he visited Mexico City and met Deborah Peck, whom became his wife for fifty-four years.
Bob is survived by his wife, Deborah J. Moelich; daughter, Carrie J. Eilders (Martin) of Navarre, Florida; son, Robert Edward Moelich, Jr. (Vanessa); granddaughters, Madeleine R. Eilders, Emilie J. Eilders, Adeline R. Coy, and Olivia G. Moelich; grandsons, Gabriel B. Eilders and Noah A. Moelich; his aunt, Gloria Rogers Moses of Savannah, Georgia; older sister, Linda Del Pizzo of St. Louis, Missouri; twin sister, Susan Moelich Rivera (Lidio) of Las Cruces, New Mexico; and younger brother, William J. Moelich (Luz Perdomo) of Hendersonville, North Carolina.
Bob enjoyed an illustrious career in the Air Force and proudly flew F-4s and KC-135s as a navigator. He played golf regularly and could always be found in the midst of a crossword or Sudoku puzzle. Bob treasured being a husband to his beloved wife, Debbie, being an Aggie, being "Grandpa", and having the house filled with loved ones. He will be dearly missed.
Lt. Colonel Moelich will be interred on May 2, 2025 at 2:30 p.m. at Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, Florida with full military honors.
