James Leslie "Jim" Felkner
May 12, 1941 - October 27, 2025
James Leslie Felkner was born May 12, 1941, in Willow Point, Texas, to Jesse Lois Felkner and Mittie Frances Middleton Felkner. He passed from this life October 27, 2025, at Leander, Texas, having reached the age of 84 years.
James, a resident of Vineyard, Texas, graduated from Jacksboro High School in 1959. He graduated from Texas A & M University in 1965 with a bachelor degree in Industrial Technology. James worked for the Westinghouse Electric Corporation, General Dynamics Corporation and Alcatel Corporation before opening his own business, Felkner Enterprises, specializing in backup power supply systems maintenance.
James served as a substitute teacher in the Peaster I.S.D. for several years. He enjoyed working with the students, many of whom affectionally called him "Grandpa". James proudly served in the United States Army, achieving the rank of Specialist E-4. James was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Bridgeport, Texas. James enjoyed singing as a baritone in the church choir. James' great loves were his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, his family & friends and Texas A&M and Aggie sports teams.
James is survived by brother Roy Dean Felkner & wife Karen. Nieces: Andrea Mazo & husband Scott and Amanda King. Great-Nieces: Shelby Beeman & husband Cayman, Emily Mazo and Fifer King. James is proceeded in death by sister, Mitzi Loise Felkner, brother, Charles Curtis Felkner, sister-in-law, Peggy Joyce Alford Felkner, and nephew, Curtis Lewellyn Felkner.
A graveside service for James is scheduled on December 13, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the Willow Point Cemetery in Wise County.
