Keith Allan Varga
October 14, 1966 - November 9, 2024
Keith Allan Varga was born October 14, 1966, in Lufkin, Texas. He was the second child to Joe and Sandra Varga. He had two brothers, Kyle and Scott, and enjoyed all the fun a family of three boys had to offer. Keith cared deeply for his family and was a loyal son and brother.
Keith and his wife Beverly were high school sweethearts, and both graduated from Texas A&M University. Keith received his degree in Computer Science and a minor in Electrical Engineering. In April of 1989, Keith and Beverly married in Lufkin and moved to Dallas, Texas where he began his career at IBM and received his MBA from The University of Texas at Arlington.
In March of 1995, Keith and Beverly welcomed their first child, Russell, and the family of three moved to Round Rock, Texas. Two years later their daughter Paige was born, and Keith began a new job with Pervasive.
Keith and Beverly raised their children in Round Rock where Keith spent time coaching sports, attending numerous volleyball and soccer games, and cross country meets. They developed many lasting friendships through their neighborhood and church. The family spent time with friends enjoying Easter Kickball, pumpkin carving contests, and Christmas Eve festivities.
From 2001 to 2017, Keith built his career at Newgistics. He developed lasting friendships that he cherished as well as a successful career doing what he loved. From 2017 to 2021, Keith’s career took him to Pitney Bowes and then to uShip in 2021.
Keith loved a challenge which was clearly seen when he started running as a hobby. He spent numerous hours running Town Lake before work and completed 13 marathons over the years including The Chicago Marathon and The New York Marathon. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting and working in the yard. A weekend of grilling ribs and brisket was his favorite, while often showing his latest techniques to Russell. He was a “doer”, always working on a project he wanted to improve.
Keith was diagnosed with Glioblastoma in April of 2023. He kept a smile on his face while completing treatments with a personal goal to see his daughter get married. In January 2024, Paige and Jack married and Keith was thrilled to be there to celebrate. Even during his illness, he looked forward to helping make a difference in his community. He helped serve with Meals on Wheels and looked forward to it weekly.
Keith is survived by his wife of 35 years, Beverly; his precious children, Russell Varga and Paige Richey and her husband Jack; his mother, Sandra Varga; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Julia and Bill McKelvy; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Donna and Paul Cauley; his nieces, Caroline Padron and her husband Kyle and their daughter Olivia, Julianne Chausse and her husband Braden, and Maddie Varga; and numerous extended family. He was preceded in death by his father, Joe Varga, and his two brothers Kyle Varga and Scott Varga.
