Walter Perry Davis
August 19, 1932 - November 7, 2025
Funeral services to celebrate the home going of Walter Perry Davis, 93, will be held at 11:00AM Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Calvary Baptist Church 2710 South Powell Parkway in Anna, Texas with Bro. Daniel Martin officiating. Mr. Davis was received into the presence of his Lord and Savior on Friday, November 7, 2025, at home surrounded by his family.
Walter Perry Davis was born August 19, 1932, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Walter Randolph Davis and Palma Ione Baulch. Perry grew up on a ranch in Sterling City, Texas graduating from San Angelo High School in 1950. Perry was a proud graduate of Texas A&M University in 1954.
He married the love of his life Edna Mae Hunt June 24, 1955, and celebrated just shy of 58 years of marriage upon her death March 18, 2013. He worked 35 years as a Landman, retiring at the age of 77 in 2009. Perry loved to cook for other people. He was a master of smoked meats, fried catfish, and flipping eggs. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Anna, Texas. Perry accepted Christ at a very young age and was faithful in reading God’s word daily. He enjoyed receiving visitors, calling friends and family, and sending bible verses to friends and family. He would greet you with a smile and when asked how he was doing he would say, “Super good and getting better!” He would take candy and donuts to doctor appointments and always had a joke to lighten the mood and share the love of Christ. He kept Proverbs 17:22 beside his chair, “A merry heart does good like medicine, but a broken spirit dries the bones.”
Perry was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Leslie and Jack Davis, half-brother Wesley Roy Davis, half-sister Betty Mahan, and his precious Mama Red. He is survived by his daughter Cindy (William) Westbrook of Ingleside, Texas, sons Jeff (Denise) Davis of Anna, Texas, Walter (Ronda) Davis of Tyler, Texas, Joe (Joyce) Davis of Tyler, Texas, 12 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to the Calvary Baptist Church building fund.
