Robin Leigh (Pyle) Jones
December 26, 1957 - October 20, 2025
Robin Leigh Pyle Jones, went home to be with her Lord Jesus, her son, Alan, and her parents on October 20, 2025. Her cancer took a dramatic and unexpected downturn about a month earlier and she received amazing care from both Compassus Hospice and The Crossing at Clarity Hospice teams for a couple of weeks. She passed peacefully.
Robin is loved by many; respected by all who knew her. Described as beautiful, mischievous, eclectic, and bohemian, she was intensely intelligent and perceptive. She had an extraordinary ability to connect with people wherever their paths crossed, many times building lasting relationships after a chance encounter. Foregoing a formal career in psychology, she spent her life loving and caring for her family and friends. Many came to enjoy her daily social media posts—some irreverent, some thoughtful, and some just plain funny. But she considered it her ministry each morning to bring a smile, a frown, or a tear to her social media family. She just wanted them to think and be open to different perspectives. She was a lover of animals, making them a part of her family and a focus of her devotion and sometimes fierce advocacy. She valued the dedicated talent of Louisiana artists and her house was filled with art by people she had met. While she lived in different parts of Louisiana and loved her home state, the people and culture in and around Lafayette captured her soul.
Robin was born on December 26, 1957 in Carthage, Texas, but grew up on the family’s farm on Cross Lake in Shreveport, Louisiana. She graduated from Friendship Academy, and received her B.S. in psychology from Louisiana Tech University, summa cum laude, and her Master’s Degree from Texas A&M. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joan Yost Pyle and Temple Shields Pyle, Jr. She also endured the loss of her beloved son, Michael Alan Cook. She is survived by her husband, Jerald “Jerry” N. Jones, who is grateful for getting to love and do life with this remarkable woman. Also, her sister, Rebecca Ann Pyle Lee; her nephew, Bryan Gordan and his family; her stepchildren and grandchildren, Jerald Michael Jones (Greyson and Gemma) and Sarah Frances Jones (Tristan). She also leaves behind Beauregard, her Bernese Mountain Dog, known around the neighborhood as Bogie or Beau, and Alan’s black cat, Winnie.
For those who wish to honor Robin, the family suggests donations to the West Feliciana Animal Humane Society. Https://wfahs.org.
