Thomas Michael "Mike" Riggs, DDS 

April 23, 1947 - October 11, 2025 

T. Michael Riggs died peacefully October 11, 2025 surrounded by his family in Bryan, Texas.

Mike was born in Fort Worth, Texas on April 23, 1947 to S.E. Riggs and Ila Faye Thomas Riggs. Growing up, Mike was active in Boy Scouts, The Letterman’s Club, varsity football and his church youth group. He graduated from Carter-Riverside High School in 1965.

Mike attended Texas A&M University graduating in the Class of 1969 with a degree in zoology. He then began Dental School at Baylor Dental School in Dallas. While in Dallas, Mike met his future wife Jane Cates Riggs while attending First Baptist Church Dallas.

After graduating from Dental school, Mike set up his dental practice in Bryan, Texas. He practiced dentistry there for 37 years.

Mike will be remembered for his love of fishing with his father-in-law, playing golf and traveling. Most of all he will be remember for his love for cheering on the Aggies. He became the first of three generations of proud former or current students.

Surviving him are his wife Jane; daughter Betsy Riggs Rains and her husband Nathan and son Bill Riggs and his wife Sarah: his grandchildren Madison Rains Stone and her husband Sam, Taylor Rains Wilson and her husband Chris, Caleb Rains, Joshua Rains, Daniel Rains, Jackson Riggs, Hudson Riggs, Greyson Riggs and Emerson Riggs; great grandchildren Emma Kate Stone, Ivy Wilson and Olen Wilson.

The family would like to thank the caregivers, kitchen staff and nurses from the Isle at Watercress, his caregiver Rubbie Green and Acura Hospice for the exceptional love and care.

In keeping with Mike’s wishes a private family service will be held to honor his life. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Scotty’s House.
