David Wayne Bratton
August 2, 1971 - September 2, 2025
David Wayne Bratton, 54, of Benton, Arkansas, passed away unexpectedly September 2, 2025, surrounded by his loving family and friends.
He was born on August 2, 1971, in Arlington, Texas, and grew up in Millsap, Texas. David graduated from Millsap High School before attending Texas A&M University, where he proudly earned a bachelor's degree in Agricultural Economics as a member of the Corps of Cadets.
David learned the value of hard work early in life, spending summers as a highway worker in Texas and working alongside his father in the family grocery store. Known for his punctuality and dedication, these experiences shaped the integrity and spirit of service that defined him throughout his life.
David married the love of his life, Pam, after being introduced to her by his sister-in-law Robin. Together they shared 29 wonderful years of marriage and raised two daughters, Sydney and Shelby, who were the pride and joy of his life.
Professionally, David dedicated part of his career serving as a Texas State Trooper before later becoming a respected insurance adjuster with Progressive. In both roles, he was admired for his honesty, perseverance, and respect for others.
Outside of his work, David embraced life with passion and joy. He was a master of the barbecue pit, famous for his brisket and pulled pork. He loved rock music, B-horror movies, and could always lighten the mood with a spot-on Bart Simpson impression. He had a remarkable knack for remembering and sharing obscure facts, always seeming to have the answer at the tip of his tongue. He loved good bourbon, and had a knack for creative problem-solving, and never shied away from a YouTube tutorial. Above all, David was a devoted husband, father, mentor, and friend.
David was preceded in death by his father, Sidney Eldon Bratton. He is survived by his wife, Pam; daughters, Sydney and Shelby; his mother, Juanita Bratton; his brother, James Bratton (Robin); along with many beloved nieces and nephews. He will be deeply missed and his memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him.
A service celebrating David's life will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Benton, Arkansas. Casual dress is requested as it is what David would have wanted.
