James Mathews " Jimmy " Cox, age 76, of Gatesville, Texas passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2025.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James Mathews Cox, age 76, of Gatesville, TX on March 12, 2025. James was born on August 10, 1948, in Bryan, TX to the late John and Lorraine Cox.

He was a loving husband for 56 years, father of 3 and grandfather to 7. He was a dedicated electronics engineer for 45 years.

James is survived by his wife Doris, his children, Eric Cox and his wife Brandy, Melissa Moehle and her husband Chris, Natalie Cox and her husband Matt Page and seven grandchildren, Ethan, Bayley, Logan, Dalton, Emerson, Cooper and Easton, and his brother, John Cox and wife Mary.

Visitation will be held at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home Sunday March 16, 2025 from 5:00-7:00 pm. A funeral service will be held on March 17, 2025, at 1:00pm at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home, followed by interment at Moffat Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
