Tommy Wilson Brian
March 31, 1961 - December 21, 2023
Tommy Wilson Brian, 62, of Amarillo, Texas passed away Thursday, December 21, 2023. Tommy was born to Jack and Mary Brian in Dumas, Texas, March 31, 1961.
His memorial will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, January 6, 2024, at Journey Church in Amarillo, Texas.
After graduating from Dumas High School, he went on to begin his college career at Texas A&M University. He joined the Army Reserves where he became a Combat Medic. Later he completed his RN at Amarillo College, followed by his Nurse Practitioner from Fort Hays State University. He began his Nurse Practitioner career in Dumas before going to work for Boys Ranch and Girls Town, as well as for the Stratford Medical Clinic and FMC Care Express in Amarillo.
He loved fishing, skeet shooting, and hosting family and friends for cookouts and crab boils. Everyone looked forward to his cooking and he spared no expense when cooking for his loved ones. Tommy’s serious side was that of an avid reader, always learning something new. But his fun side was that of a John Wayne fan who was a hoot to walk through haunted houses with. He also loved to play Trivial Pursuit when he could find anyone else up for the challenge. Most importantly, Tommy was a kind and compassionate man who took great care of his family.
Friends and family often went to Tommy for medical advice and wisdom. His good friends, Kelby and Matt, say that Tommy saved their lives by encouraging them to pursue careers in the medical field, which they did.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters, Crystal Brian and Rosemary Knight.
Tommy is survived by his wife, Tammy Brian and children, Bria and Ian, all of the home, daughter, Christy Scalise and husband, Bryan, of Fort Worth, Texas, son, Jeramy Brian of Maryland, former daughter-in-law, Susanna Brian of Maryland, and grandchildren, Roan, Juliette, Zane, Luke, Tyler, Hailey and Jack, good friends, Kelby Johnson of McCamey, Texas and Matt Padwick of Honolulu, Hawaii, and stepdaughter, Brittney Chisholm.
