Douglas Hilton Giraud
June 26, 1962 - July 17, 2025
Douglas Hilton Giraud passed away on July 17, 2025, at the age of 63. He was born on June 26, 1962, in Houston, Texas, where he grew up and attended Strake Jesuit High School. He began his working life in high school at an auto parts store, where he developed a love for tinkering—a passion that led him to pursue a degree in Electrical Engineering at Texas A&M University, from which he proudly graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in 1984.
After graduating, Douglas began his career at Powell Industries where he worked for many years before retiring in 2022. In 2000, Douglas turned his passion for shooting sports into a lasting legacy by founding Giraud Tool Company. What began as a side venture quickly became a pioneering force in the reloading industry, where he designed and secured five patents— including the revolutionary Giraud Power Case Trimmer, an innovation that set a new gold standard and remains a benchmark for precision and efficiency among shooters and reloaders today. He continued to work in his shop until his passing.
Douglas is preceded in death by his father, James Hilton Giraud, his mother, Joyclyn Cechin Giraud, and his wife, Margaret Maria Giraud.
He is survived by his sons, John and Robert, daughter-in-law Nia, and granddaughter Gisele.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at Forest Park Lawndale on August 6, 2025, at 10:00 AM, followed by a burial ceremony with the family at 11:00 AM and refreshments to follow.
