Douglas Clark Hildinger
October 10, 1963 - June 30, 2025
It is with profound sadness that we announce that Douglas Clark Hildinger passed away on Monday, June 30, 2025. Doug was born on October 10, 1963 in Dallas, Texas.
He was raised in Garland, Texas and graduated from South Garland High School. Following high school, he attended and graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Environmental Design. After his graduation from Texas A&M, he moved to New York City where he graduated from Columbia University with a Master of Architecture. Doug began his career in architecture by joining Skidmore, Owings and Merrill in New York City; eventually moved back home to Texas to join the family firm, Hildinger and Associates with our father, Gene in Dallas. Doug was a renowned architect, and in his career designed many schools, distinctive houses and many other projects for clients across Texas. He designed and built many contemporary homes in the Dallas area and has been described as "renowned for his contemporary designs that harmoniously blend modern esthetics with the natural environment."
Doug has a large group of close friends across the country who are devastated by his passing, and, like family, profoundly mourn his loss. Kind and caring, he was loved by all who knew him. Doug will be remembered for his steadfast friendship to everyone he knew that his kind and gentle nature was as big as his smile, his talent and gift for design, and his four-legged companions, his Vizsla's Abby, Tess and Dax.
He is preceded in death by his beloved parents Gene and Barbara Hildinger. Doug is survived by his brother Michael Hildinger and wife Margaret, brother Steve Hildinger, nephew Joshua Hildinger and wife Jing, niece Lauren Lee and husband Ryan and grandnephew Jack, niece Emily Colby and husband Glen and grandniece Robin, niece Hannah Ferris and husband Jack; by his cousins Nancy Hildinger and wife Priscilla, Robert Hildinger and wife Cynthia, and their children Bella and Andrew, and cousins Jeff Silvertooth and Julie Bottenburg; and many dear friends.
In lieu of flowers, his family suggests donations can be made to the SPCA of Dallas, Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, or another charity of your choosing.
