Robert Clyde Brockwell 

August 26, 1936 - October 26, 2023 

Robert Clyde Brockwell, age 87 of San Antonio, Texas, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 26, 2023. He is remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Born on August 26, 1936, Robert was the son of the late Mona Latham Brockwell and Clyde Monroe Brockwell. He was born and raised in Del Rio where he graduated from Del Rio High School and was a proud Ram until his passing. After attending Texas A&M University and Trinity University, Robert graduated from Southwest Texas State University. While at Southwest Texas, he met Jewel “Judy” Bess Eggleston. They were married on December 30, 1961 and had a wonderful life together until Judy’s death in 1980. This loving marriage produced three sons, five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren with a third to arrive in May.

After the untimely deaths of his son, Rodney Charles, and his wife, Judy, Robert raised his two sons as a single parent providing them with a loving, nurturing home in McQueeney, Texas. Following the sale of his company, Credit Bureau of South Central Texas, he continued his career at GMAC where he renewed a friendship with Diane Connolly and they eventually married in 1998. Together, they enjoyed their retirement years filled with travel and family until Diane’s passing on January 26, 2023. In May 2023, Robert relocated to San Antonio to be closer to his two sons and grandchildren.

He is survived by sons: Robert (Rob) Clyde Brockwell, Jr. and his children, Kalen, Garrett, Lauren, husband Andy Anzures, and his grandchildren Harper and Lila; and Todd Brockwell and wife Karen Butt Brockwell and their children, Lee and William. He is also survived by a sister, Beatrice Brockwell Ingalls, numerous nieces and nephews, as well as step daughters, Dana Smith (Mike), Dawn Deroches (Dave) and D’Ann Gilbert (Tony).
