Roll Call Tribute

Harry Reynolds III '72 July 15, 2025 4:31 PM updated: July 15, 2025 4:47 PM

Harry Godman Reynolds, III

August 21, 1951 - June 3, 2025

Harry G Reynolds, III was born on August 21, 1951, in Houston, Texas to Ada and Harry Reynolds. He was a proud graduate of Kashmere Gardens High School, where he was already known for his quiet strength and easy smile. I remember it well-he was my date to prom. Life took us in different directions after graduation in 1969, but the story God was writing for us wasn't finished yet. Harry went on to earn his degree in Engineering from Texas A&M University. He was smart, hardworking, and grounded-everything he did, he did with purpose. He started his professional life in newspaper distribution and worked in his family's business, Reywood Realty. But what I admired most was his heart-how he carried so much resilience through the hardships he faced. In 1986, Harry married Charlotte Fulton, and together they welcomed Charles, his only biological son, into the world in 1987. When Charlotte passed a year later, Harry became a single father-a role he embraced with fierce devotion and unwavering love.

He answered God's voice and earned his Master's of Theology from SMU. He served as a youth pastor at Riverside United Methodist Church, where he poured out his love and wisdom into the lives of young people, always ready to listen, guide, and remind them of God's grace. Harry never missed an opportunity to testify about how good God is. His faith was unwavering-even when his health began to decline after his stroke in 2009. Through it all, his spirit remained gentle, his humor intact, and his optimism unshaken. He always believed the best in people. He saw potential in everyone. And no matter the weight of his own burdens, he made time to lift the burdens of others.

Harry passed on June 3, 2025. I take comfort in knowing that he is finally at peace, reunited with loved ones, and walking with God.
