Jeffrey Lowell Pittman
May 21, 1965 - May 13, 2025
On May 13, 2025, Jeffrey Pittman of Brenham, Texas left the surly bonds of earth and touched the hand of God. Jeff passed away at his mother’s home in College Station, Texas surrounded by family after a courageous battle with cancer.
Jeff was born May 21, 1965, at Chanute Air Force Base in Rantoul, Illinois as the first child of Donald Wayne Pittman and Ann Ferrell Davis Pittman. The family moved to St. Louis, Missouri in 1966 so that Don could attend St Louis University. In 1968 they moved to Wurtsmith AFB in Oscoda Michigan. While at Wurtsmith, Jeff’s baby brother, Bryan, was born in 1969. In 1970 the family made a big move to Ramey Air Force Base in Puerto Rico where Don flew with the Hurricane Hunters. Keesler Air Force Base in Gulfport, Mississippi was the next stop and again with the Hurricane Hunters. The family moved to College Station, Texas in 1975 for Don to study at Texas A&M University.
Jeff and Bryan grew up attending College Station schools and graduating from A&M Consolidated High School. Jeff first attended Sam Houston State University and then Texas A&M and graduating in 1988 with a degree in sociology. Jeff’s journey next took him to Houston, Texas to work for the Marriott Corporation. He subsequently entered the world of commercial real estate first in real estate research and then working for CBRE (CB Richard Ellis) for 25 years. He and his former wife, Deborah, moved to Brenham in 1996 and he continued to commute to Houston daily. From January 2021 to October 2022, he was with NAI Partners. In 2018 Jeff and Heidi McAlister co-founded RCR Rail Company which established and operated rail parks in Taylor and eventually in Hempstead. At the time of his death, Jeff was Vice President and Co-founder of RCR Rail Company. Jeff was a member of First Christian Church in Bryan.
Jeff was a connoisseur of many things including all matters spiritual, Aggie Sports, European soccer, gospel music (indeed all types of music) reading, English mysteries (including Agatha Christie) travel, genealogy, and road trips. His main sports loves though were Aggie baseball, professional baseball, and European soccer – especially Liverpool. Jeff had many friends and was especially close to his 1983 graduating class of A&M Consolidated High School. His nickname was Elmer because they said he was the glue which kept them together.
Jeff was predeceased by his father, Donald Pittman, his paternal grandparents, Kenneth and Marjorie Pittman and his maternal grandparents, Lowell and Era Davis.
Jeff is survived by his devoted mother, Ann Pittman-Thompson of College Station, his loving brother Bryan (Debra) of Waxahachie; nieces Allison Pittman Bartko (Mitchell) of Florissant, Colorado; Ashley Pittman of Grapevine; Uncle Charles Davis (Anna) of Evansville, Indiana. Left to cherish his memory also are extended family members in Texas and across the country. Cherishing his memory also are Deborah Phillips, and his loving girlfriend Brandi Conway of Brenham. Those remembering Jeff both in College Station and Brenham are too numerous to mention but you know who you are.
The family would like to thank Dr. Judi Yeh and Dr. William Loesch both with Baylor Scott and White. We are most grateful to Hospice Brazos Valley for their loving care and support for Jeff. We want to especially mention Baylee Kershaw, Terri Ratcliff and Elaine Washington. The family is asking funeral attendees to honor Jeff’s love of sports and all things Aggie to wear their favorite Aggie, Astros or Liverpool gear or any other bright colored sporty clothes.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Hillier Funeral Home in College Station. Services are scheduled at First Christian Church Bryan on May 23, 2025 with private burial at the Aggie Field of Honor.
