Garrett Frank Lyssy
March 11, 1984 - June 26, 2025
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept
the faith. 2 Timothy 4:7-8
Garrett Frank Lyssy, beloved husband, father, son, and friend, passed
away on Thursday, June 26, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on March 11, 1984, in San Antonio to Lester and Nell Lyssy, Garrett
moved with his family to Poth at the age of three. From an early age, he
embraced the joys of rural life—fishing, hunting, and spending time at the
family ranches. He carried that love of the land into adulthood, raising his
sons with the same values and appreciation for small-town Texas living.
A proud member of the Texas A&M Class of 2006, Garrett embodied the
spirit and traditions of Aggieland. He was a founding member of the Wilson
County Aggie Tailgaters, where he spent countless football weekends
surrounded by friends and fellow Aggies, always eager to welcome new
members into the fold. He took great pride in “raising ‘em right,” passing
down his love for Texas A&M traditions to his sons, Mason and Braden.
Garrett had a deep passion for World War II history, inspired by the service
of his grandfathers in the African and Pacific campaigns. He found meaning
and connection in documentaries and stories from that era, honoring their
legacy through his curiosity and respect.
Recently, Garrett launched his own business, LyssyTech, offering IT
services to individuals and small businesses in the area. Known for his
patience and kindness, especially with senior citizens, he built a reputation
for being not just knowledgeable, but genuinely helpful and compassionate.
Garrett is lovingly survived by his wife, Kelley, his sons Mason
Garrett and Braden Luke, his parents Lester and Nell Lyssy, and his
brother Andrew Lyssy.
