William Ennis DuPlantis, Jr.

February 23, 1935 - February 5, 2022

William Ennis (Bill) DuPlantis, Jr. left this earth on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at his residence. Bill was born in Baytown, Texas on February 23, 1935 to parents William Ennis DuPlantis, Sr. and Blanche Eleanor Dickson DuPlantis.

He was a 1953 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School and received his Bachelor of Business Administration in 1957 from Texas A&M University. Following graduation in May, he married the love of his life, Frances Lee Lenamon of Groesbeck, August 2, 1957. They immediately left for Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, Texas where Bill served six months active duty and six and half years in the Reserves. Shortly thereafter they began their family, raising three sons, William Bradley, Michael David and Stephen Douglas.

Following in his fathers footsteps, he accepted a job at a small bank in South Houston. Within the year he was offered a job at Harris County Federal Savings and Loan in Baytown, eventually becoming President. Other employment included consulting at Citizens Bank, now Amegy Bank, where he retired in 2007. Bill enjoyed helping people and was always generous with his time and advice. He really cared about others and was ready to help however he could.

Throughout the years, Bill enjoyed golfing with friends, watching their sons in various sports activities and the many seasons that were spent at their hunting leases. Bill and Frances were gracious hosts for many large family gatherings and friends. Their door was always open.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents and his son, Michael. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Frances; son Brad, son Steve and wife Dana; grandchildren: Alina DuPlantis, Nicole DuPlantis, Logan DuPlantis, Brooke Khoury.

In the care of Crespo and Jirrels Funeral Home.
