Michael A. Burch, Lt. Col. USAF (Ret) 

April 23, 1949 - May 15, 2025 

Mr. Michael A. Burch, age 76, of Broaddus, Texas, passed away Thursday, May 15, 2025, at his residence.

Mike was born April 23, 1949, in Bellville, Texas, to parents Willie Mae and Ben Burch.

After high school graduation, he went on to attend Texas A&M University, earning a degree in engineering. While at A&M, Mike became active with the ROTC and continued his military service by joining the U.S. Air Force after college. He had attained the rank of Lt. Colonel before his 1993 retirement with more than 21 years of faithful service to the U.S.A.F. Mike had many outstanding achievements, honors, and awards during these years.

Bass fishing was Mike's passion. He moved to the Broaddus area 16 years ago and spent countless hours at the nearby Lake Sam Rayburn living the dream.

His survivors include his wife, Debra A. Burch of Broaddus; his daughters, Shawn Thompson, Stephanie Simpson and husband Tony, and Taylor Glaze and husband Tommy; grandchildren, Hayden, Carly, Payton, Evelyn, Levi, and Virginia; brothers, Joe Rutherford and wife Debra and Ricky Burch and wife Martha; along with a host of other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Willie Mae Burch.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 31, 2025, at Trinity Baptist Church, located at 310 FM 83 East in Broaddus, Texas.

Arrangements are under the direction of Wyman Roberts Funeral Home in San Augustine, Texas.
