Fred Carl Lutz 

June 1935 - May 4, 2025 

Fred Carl Lutz, 89, of Jackson Township, NJ, passed away on Sunday, May 4, 2025, at Care One of Jackson. Fred was born in Lodi, NJ.

Fred graduated from Lodi High School and attended Texas A&M University where he played the trumpet in their band for two years before deciding to go into the military. Fred was a proud veteran, who started in the Army Reserve and then served in the United States Marine Corps, where he received the Good Conduct Medal.

Fred worked as a Quality Control Supervisor for 3M in Freehold Twp. for many years. He also worked at Magnavox, Tanon and Dialight before his retirement.

Fred was a big fan of Texas A&M and he cheered for the UConn girls' basketball team. He loved attending Drum & Bugle Corps competitions, especially enjoying the trumpet section. In his spare time, Fred coached several sports teams, was a Boy Scout leader and took great joy in attending his grandchildren's activities. He also liked spending time outdoors and bird watching.

He was predeceased by his parents, Frederick Lutz and Vilma Simpson; his son, Fred P. Lutz; his sisters Gloria, Kay and Ellie and his wife, Wilma Lutz. He is survived by his daughters, Pamela Guido and her husband Angelo, and Sandy Butler and her husband Ed, his seven grandchildren, Mandy, Kimberly, Cory, Ryan, Shelby, Hailey, and Joey; his 5 great-grandchildren, Brendan, Aubrey, Alexis, Joey, and Giovanni; and his daughter-in-law Lori Agostinocchio.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend Fred's visitation on Saturday, May 10, 2025 from 8:30-10:30 AM with his Funeral Service at 10:30 AM at the GEORGE S. HASSLER FUNERAL HOME, 980 Bennetts Mills Rd., Jackson Twp., NJ. Interment with Military Honors will follow in St. Mary of the Lake Cemetery, 1 Honey Locust Dr., Lakewood, NJ.
