Dr. Jorga L. Brown, DVM, age 68, of Austin, Texas, passed away peacefully on May 4, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones.
Born on December 28, 1956, in Harndorn, Kaiserslautern, Germany, Jorga lived a life marked by service, compassion, and unwavering dedication to others, both people and animals. She proudly served in the United States Air Force before pursuing her lifelong calling in veterinary medicine. Jorga earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Texas A&M University and went on to care for animals with the same integrity, patience, and compassion that defined every part of her life.
In 1993, Dr. Brown began her long and fulfilling career at Companion Animal Hospital in Austin, Texas. She also served in numerous weekend veterinary clinics throughout Austin and surrounding counties, touching countless lives with her gentle and healing touch. Her clients, colleagues, and friends remember her not only for her skill and dedication, but for her quick wit, kind heart, and love for sports, music, and travel.
Dr. Brown was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Earl and Eva Brown. She is survived by her sister Rose Brown-Weeder of Buda, Texas; her brother William Brown of Austin, Texas; sisters Elizabeth Ann Kupper and Sonya Brown of Oregon; her nephew Fabien Weeder; great-nephew Cash Weeder; and great-niece Zoey Weeder. She is also survived by her dear friend Pam Flores, with whom she shared many years of cherished memories, travels, and unwavering support.
A memorial service with military honors, including the playing of Taps, will be held on May 13, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 2620 S Congress Ave, Austin, TX 78704.
In honor of Dr. Brown’s lifelong love of animals, donations can be made in lieu of flowers to the Austin Humane Society.
A life of service, a heart of healing, Dr. Jorga Brown gave all with love and is now in the presence and loving arms of our Heavenly Father.
