Martha Loye (Gill) Basye 

August 11, 1940 - December 16, 2023 

Martha Basye, 83, of Itasca, Texas passed away Saturday, December 16, 2023, at a Fort Worth hospital. Graveside services will take place at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at Itasca Cemetery in Itasca, Texas.

She was born August 11, 1940, in Grapeland, Texas, to Roy and Ailene Gill. Martha attended schools in Parker, Rio Vista and Grapeland.

On November 29, 1958, she married Jimmy Basye in the Parker community. They made their home in Itasca and raised four children together.

Martha attended Hill Junior College for cosmetology. She also pursued a degree in vocational teaching at Texas A&M. She taught cosmetology at Hill Junior College and later retired from Lockheed Martin. Martha also held real estate and insurance licenses. Together with her husband, Jimmy, she owned several businesses. Martha was of the Baptist faith and is spending Christmas with Jesus.

She enjoyed traveling, music, slots and gardening. Her greatest joy was being a Granny to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
