Robert David Anderson 

May 1, 1939 - April 11, 2025 

Robert David Anderson, of Hico, Texas passed away Friday, April 11, 2025. A Celebration of Life is scheduled at First Baptist Church of Hico, Saturday, May 24, 2025 from 11am to 2pm.

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 2 Timothy 4:7

David was born on May 1, 1939, to the late James Grady "Buck" Anderson and Robert Bethel Thompson in Hamilton, Texas. David was an athlete: playing football, basketball, and running track at Blanket High School. He attended Cisco Junior College on a track scholarship where he finished 6th in the nation in the 2 mile.

He was a teacher, coach, and a lifelong learner. He earned his bachelor's degree from Howard Payne University, his master's from Texas A&M University. He was one of 30 men in the United States to be chosen by National Science Foundation to complete certification for Earth Science. He dedicated 51 years to Texas public school students, teaching in Hico, Waco, Bryan, and Granbury.

He loved his wife of 62 years, Joyce Anderson, and his family of 3 children, 2 daughters-in-law, 11 grandchildren, and 1 great granddaughter.

He was a man of faith, a member of First Baptist Church, a husband, dad, Pa Pa, a teacher. He donated his body to UT Southwestern Medical School to continue to serve as a teaching tool.
