Reagan Cartwright Rorschach 

May 19, 1965 - April 25, 2025 

Reagan Cartwright Rorschach passed away on Friday, April 25, 2025, just shy of his 60th birthday, after a 10-month battle with cancer. Reagan fiercely loved his wife, Kristy, and their two daughters, Ryn and Meris, building a life highlighted by faith, love, knowledge-seeking, tennis, and music.

Born on May 19, 1965, in Houston, Texas, to Richard Rorschach and Justa Helm, Reagan grew up with his brothers, Richard and Andrew. He spent his teen years in Schulenburg, Texas, where he traveled the open dirt roads blaring Cinderella Man by Rush from his Pioneer car speakers, hanging on to his plans and protecting his dreams as the song entreats.

With an unending passion to learn, Reagan earned degrees in civil and environmental engineering from Texas A&M, and later, an Executive MBA from Baylor. He had a brilliant mind — always curious, always challenging systems and assumptions. He weathered the storm of Enron’s collapse with resilience and built a distinguished business career, culminating in a leading role at Eldridge Capital Management. Along the way, he mentored and shaped the careers of coworkers, instilling the values of excellence, ethics, and intentionality.

Reagan felt his greatest achievement was his family. He was proud of his wife, Kristy, whom he married in 2007, and their precious girls, Ryn (age 14) and Meris (almost 11). He gave his girls his heart, devotion, and encouragement — on the tennis court and off — teaching them grit and integrity by his example.

Reagan also cherished his friendships and extended family, sharing with them his humor, insights, and many passions. Tennis ranked among his favorites, along with music by Texas singer-songwriters and a perfect cup of Joe. Reagan was never at a loss for providing instruction, sharing a witty observation, or bestowing an endearing nickname.

As Reagan wrote in his journal during his illness, “Receiving God’s love directly and through his people is what God wants for us. Sin and the devil are in opposition. Have Courage. Have Faith. Accept Love.” Reagan embraced this wisdom, accepting God’s love through the Sky Ranch Horn Creek brothers, the Prestonwood community, family, and friends.

Reagan is survived by his loving wife, Kristy; their daughters, Ryn and Meris; his father, Richard Rorschach; his brothers, Andrew Rorschach (Kathy) and Richard Rorschach (Patricia); Kristy’s parents, Jerry and Jane Smith; Kristy’s sister, Shannon Pettle; and his nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother, Justa Helm, and stepmother, Martha Rorschach.

Reagan’s life was a testament to the idea that we are not measured by the number of our days, but by the impact we leave on the hearts around us. And by that measure, Reagan lived a great life — one of depth, generosity, and legacy.

A celebration of Reagan’s life will take place on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at 2 p.m. in Faith Chapel at Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano.
