Michael R. "Mike" Grissom, MAJ USA (Ret) 

June 4, 1957 - June 4, 2025 

Major Michael R. Grissom, age 68, passed away in his home on June 4th, 2025 of natural causes. He was raised in El Paso, Texas and received an ROTC scholarship to attend Texas A&M University.

Upon graduating in 1979, he enlisted in the U.S. Army as an officer. He was in the 82nd Airborne and achieved Jumpmaster status. He joined the Army reserves in the 90s and eventually retired as a Major.

He was stationed in Germany for a time and met his now ex-wife and mother of his only daughter there. They lived together on a farm in Happy, Texas for 20+ years. There he worked at Pantex as a project manager and later changed careers to become a Registered Nurse. After the divorce, he sold the farm and moved to Bryan, Texas. He loved the Aggies (Gig 'em!), going to the Dixie Chicken for a Lone Star beer and adding his beer caps to Bottle Cap Alley, being outside on his property, and good country music.

He is survived by his daughter Maria, son-in-law, and 2 grandsons residing in Washington state. There will be no memorial service. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in his memory to the Texas A&M Foundation.
