Darold K. Barb 

January 13, 1935 - April 13, 2023 

Darold K. Barb (88) of San Marcos, Tx passed away April 13, 2023.

Darold was born Jan. 13, 1935 in Madison, Kansas, the youngest child to Pansy and Earnest Barb. He graduated from K-State in 1957 with a chemical engineering degree. He met the love of his life Edwina Marshall on an internship to Texas in a college church gathering. He took his first job with Dow Chemical and moved to Texas. He then married Edwina in 1958. The two of them had four children.

Darold continued his education and received a Masters in 1964 and a PhD in 1968 in chemical engineering from Texas A&M University. In the early 70’s, Darold and Edwina moved to Houston where he worked and they raised their four kids. Darold loved: his family, his job, listening to others, kayaking on the Texas Hill Country rivers, and chocolate. Darold never saw a backroad he didn’t want to travel down, or a bakery he didn’t want to try.

Darold is preceded in death by his parents Pansy and Earnest Barb, his siblings: Jr., Wayne Barb, Melvin Barb and also his wife Edwina Barb.

He leaves behind his four children: Roger Barb, Mark Barb and his wife Kim, David Barb and his wife Ann, and Julie Rhodes and her husband Chris. He also leaves his four grandchildren Tyler and his wife Lauren, Sydney Barb, Joshua Rhodes, and Moise Rhodes

Darold’s children will have a private gravesite service. There will be celebration of life to come.
