March 23, 1922 - August 17, 2005 

Funeral services for Ray F. "Pop" Youngblood, 83, of Lufkin, Texas will be held Saturday, August 20, 2005 in the Carroway-Claybar Funeral Home Chapel. Military graveside services will follow in Whitehouse Cemetery.

Mr. Youngblood was born March 23, 1922 in Wichita Falls, Texas, to Charles Stuart and Bessie May (Sapp) Youngblood, and died Wednesday, August 17, 2005 in a Houston hospital.

Mr. Youngblood was a graduate of Texas A&M University. He was a Captain in the U.S. Army, and a veteran of World War II. He retired from Vetco Gray in Houston after more than 30 years of service as a mechanical engineer, and held a professional engineer's license. Mr. Youngblood had resided in Lufkin for the past 26 years. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Sugar Land, but most recently attended Harmony Hill Baptist Church in Lufkin.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie and Randy Wilson; daughter, Beth Ann Pipes and Don Dolinsky; grandchildren, John Talbert and wife Misti, Heath Talbert and Jennifer Pipes; great-granddaughter, Taylor Kate Talbert; sister-in-law, Pat Youngblood; two nieces and one nephew.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Ann Youngblood; parents, Charles and Bessie Youngblood; and brother, Stuart Youngblood.
