Harold Virgil Eades
October 7, 1925 - March 27, 2025
Harold Virgil Eades passed away on March 27, 2025. He was the first of three children born to Virgil and Eva Kay Eades on October 7, 1925, at Stephenville, Texas. He was preceded in death by his father, Virgil, in 1936, his mother in 1982, his brother, Harlan in 2002, his sister, Ellen Juanita in 2005.
Harold graduated from Stephenville High School in 1942, attended Tarleton State College for one year and served in General Patten's 3rd army in Germany for two years. He attended Tarleton State for one year following his discharge in 1946. He graduated from Texas A&M University with a B. S. in Agricultural Education in 1949.
His first job was at Hamlin, Texas where he taught vocational agriculture in high school for nine years. He also served as Scoutmaster of troop 43 there. He moved to Crosbyton, Tx in 1958 and taught here for 21 years and to Socorro, Tx. in 1979 where he taught and completed 36 years of high school vocational agriculture teaching in 1985. He then substituted in Ysleta I.S.D. for 11 more years and retired fully in 1996 completing 47 years of loving to teach.
Harold enjoyed hiking, mountain climbing, camping and fishing. He was volunteer guide at Hueco Tanks State Park for many years. He was an active member of El Paso Archeology Society,
He was a member of First Baptist Church of El Paso and a Deacon since 1976. He taught 3rd and 4th grade Sunday School and was a member of the Choir for 30 years. He also was a member of the Texas A&M Singing Cadets for 2 Years.
Harold will be missed for his love of his church and family who survive him. Nieces Lind Strickland and Judy Maag of Wichita Falls, Sandra Eades of Duncan, OK, Nephews Richard Barnes of Carmichael, CA. and Ronald Barmes of Wichita Falls, Tx. and his many friends.
Funeral Services will be held at First Baptist Church, 805 Montana Ave. on Thursday April 3, 2025, at 3 p.m.
